The first step for anyone who wants to try diving is the Open Water Diver (OWD) course. It includes three components: theoretical training with tests after each topic, 5 dives in the pool and 4 dives in open water. Requirements for course participants are quite simple: age of 10 years and the absence of medical contraindications – each potential diver fills in a special medical questionnaire, and a great desire to get to know the underwater world closer.
Course duration is 3-4 days.
Before starting the course, the instructor checks the ability to float: each participant of the Open Water Diving course must swim 200 meters without stopping and hold on the surface for 10 minutes without touching the bottom.
Upon graduation and the exam you will receive a certificate of international standard. It has no time limit and is accepted anywhere in the world.
The OWD certificate gives the right to dive to a depth of 18 meters without an instructor, but with a partner who also has an OWD certificate or its more advanced equivalent.
To save the time for relaxation and for practice of diving, we strongly recommend you to study and complete the course guide before your arrival. This will allow you to start the course already prepared and save valuable vacation time, and it will be pleasant and easy for the instructor to train you. We are looking forward to immersing you in an interesting and mysterious underwater world!
